Dwyane Wade Silences Doubters with New Shoe Campaign

Posted Oct 27th 2008 11:32AM by Quibian Salazar-Moreno

We're less than a week away from the start of the NBA season and ballers are gearing up to drop their new signature shoes. Dwyane Wade seems to be the first out of the gate with his new Converse Wade 4 and the tag line, "Wade's belief is stronger than your doubt."

"No matter how many times I proved myself in college and the NBA, I've felt like every day is the same because no matter how far I go, the criticism and doubt is still there," Wade said in a statement. "I've always felt that my ability is way stronger than anything people can say about me. After winning gold in Beijing, I'm excited to take the court again this season and continue to prove the doubters wrong."

The new ad campaign for the shoes focuses on all the doubters and criticism Wade has experienced through college, through the NBA, through his injuries, and through his participation with the Men's USA Basketball team who won gold in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The campaign commercial spots will start airing this week with the shoe hitting stores in November. Check out the Converse Wade 4:

Reebok Sir Jam Mid Retro

Posted by Nicekicks
Reebok has seen much success with the Omni Pump Lites and Court Victory Pumps, but for the past year Reebok has seen much success from the Jam series. We have seen a few releases and an upcoming Leaders1354 collab on the Reebok Reverse Jam, but up next to represent this series is the Reebok Sir Jam. This sneaker features the higher cut reminiscent of the mid-90’s basketball shoes and Reebok Hexalite heel cushioning. These are part of the ongoing “Training Day” Package and will be releasing this fall. Photos thanks to GLLTN.

Days away from arguably the most important presidential election of our lifetime, the excitement and anticipation is felt not only in our communities but now extends to the sports world. On Election Day as Kevin Garnett and Tracy McGrady go head-to-head on the basketball court, their adidas footwear will celebrate this historic day and encourage fans to make their voice heard by voting.

In conjunction with the new NBA rule allowing footwear modifications for special days during the season, adidas personalized shoes to honor KG and T-Mac’s passion for this election. “Embrace Change, Vote ‘08” will be inscribed on Garnett’s TS Commander while “Change is Needed, Vote ‘08” will appear on McGrady’s TS Creators.

The Election Shoes were made just for KG and T-Mac to wear and are designed to be a platform for both athletes to voice their concerns and emphasize the importance of voting. It is also a unique way for adidas to personalize performance products and have our athletes become more involved with the design process. Furthermore, it provides our players the opportunity to show fans another side and expose their personality and beliefs.
